School Science and Mathematics Association

General Information

The 1999 Annual Meeting of the School Science and Mathematics Association will be held jointly, for the first time ever, with the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics. The Holiday Inn and Convention Center are part of the same complex. Expansion plans are in the works for the creation of an elevated walkway to connect directly with a shopping mall across the street.

Complementary shuttle service to the conference hotel is available from the Piedmont Triad International Airport. Look for the courtesy house phone in the baggage claim area and allow 10-15 minutes for the 8-mile trip to the hotel.

• Preliminary Program (released August 13, 1999)
• Hotel Registration: Rooms are available for NCCTM/SSMA conference participants at the
  Holiday Inn Four Seasons. To make reservations, call the Holiday Inn at 1-800-242-6556. All hotel reservations must be accompanied by a deposit (check or credit card) guarantee in the amount of the first night's charge. Reservations must be received by September 5, 1999, to qualify for the NCCTM/SSMA special rates of $98.00 plus 12% taxes per room per night. In the event that other lodging is necessary, there are a number of other hotels and motels near the Koury Center. SSMA members having trouble with hotel rooms may contact Jill at the Four Seasons directly by email or phoning her at 1-800-242-6556.
• SSMA Booth. The SSMA booth will be Desk # 6 on the first floor of the conference complex.
• NCCTM Booth. The NCCTM booth will be Desk #5. These are next to each other beside one of the main entrances into the Guilford Ballroom areas.
