SSMA has four officers and six directors.

• The President-Elect serves in that capacity for one year and then becomes President for the succeeding two years. Finally, that individual serves for one additional year. At any one time, the Association will have either a President and President-Elect in office or a President and Past-President. A new President-Elect is elected every other year.
• The Editor of the School Science and Mathematics journal serves for a five year term.
• The Executive Director also serves for a five-year term.
• The six Directors are elected to three-year term. Two are elected each year.
